Description

Set of THREE .50-70 Government dummy rounds / snap caps / fake bullets.  This cartridge was the first center-fire metallic cartridge adopted by the US Army.  In 1866 it was made the standard for the Army’s Springfield M1866 Trapdoor rifles.  It was also adopted by the US Navy for it’s Remington rolling block rifles, as well as others such as the Sharps. It served in the Army until replaced by the 45-70 Government cartridge in the 1870s.
Great for safely function checking, as an addition to your western / US Army re-enactment kit, or display with your fine piece of American history.
Available with spent primers remaining, empty primer pockets, holes drilled in the cases, or rubber inserts added to the primer pockets.
Thanks for looking!
